Tim O’Brien is a Consultant Urologist and Clinical Lead at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. Surgical expertise is in complex renal cancer, retroperitoneal surgery, and bladder cancer. Current research interests include the genetics of metastasis in renal cancer; the investigation and treatment of retroperitoneal fibrosis; factors determining perioperative risk in complex renal cancer surgery and novel treatments for high risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. He is a member of the EAU Scientific Congress Office and from 2010-2014 was the chair of BAUS Oncology. In 2009 he was awarded the BAUS golden telescope for his contribution to urology.
