Dr Nam is currently the Ajmera Chair of Urologic Oncology, Head of the Genitourinary Cancer Site Group, Edmond Odette Cancer Centre, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He received his medical degree from the University of Toronto and completed his Urology residency and uro-oncology fellowship training there in 2002. His research interests include the genetic epidemiology of prostate cancer, new biomarker discovery for prostate cancer diagnosis and in population-based studies in prostate cancer. He holds multiple operating grants from CIHR and the NIH in prostate cancer research, and has published a number of high impact papers in the field of prostate cancer genetics and population-based outcomes studies. He has received multiple research awards from the University of Toronto, CIHR, the Ministry of Research and Innovation of the Government of Ontario, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
